Treasure the Journey

As we continue this journey called life, it is easy to become so focused on where we are going that we forget to appreciate how far we have already come. We entered Hampton with dreams in our hearts, books in our hands, and no way of knowing all that life would bring. Through the years, we have celebrated victories, navigated disappointments, built careers, raised families, experienced changes, said painful goodbyes, and discovered strength we didn’t know we possessed. Yet through it all, God has kept us.

Scripture reminds us, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” — Psalm 126:3. As members of Eminence — Hampton University Class of 1981, may we continue to treasure not only the memories we made at our beloved Hampton, but also the relationships that have grown stronger through the years. There is still life to live, love to give, purpose to fulfill, and memories to create. So, encourage a classmate, make the phone call, send the text, say the prayer, and don’t wait for a special occasion to tell someone they matter.

This Month's Encouragement:

Celebrate how far you’ve come, cherish those who are still walking beside you, and trust God with the road ahead.

With love and prayers,
Rev. Gwendolyn O. Roberts-Payne
